How I Prepared for my Sugar Fast

In December I was really starting to struggle with myself.  It had been 4 months since I had broken my leg and I was not making the progress I wanted to at that point to get my body back to pre-pregnancy weight or look.  I wanted to be walking at least an hour a day and then doing 30-45 minutes of cardio a day to lose weight by December. I was able to do 20 minutes of light cardio, but nothing that got my heart rate up that much and I could walk, but 30 minutes was my max.  I was told that I would be able to run in…

    Daycare – (Ep. 14)

For eight lucky months, my son was able to stay home and be watched by me, my husband, my mother, and my mother-in-law. . It was a great eight months for my son.  He bonded with all four of us and likes to hear all of our voices. I was able to set up a routine since he was one month old and with very little variation, seven months of the same predictable schedule with the four of us happened.   In January, we started daycare.  I still have mixed feeling about this.  I’m much happier that I did not have to put my child in daycare until he was…

    Taryn’s Birth Story – (Ep. 13)

When I was pregnant, around 5 months of being pregnant, all I thought about was the birth.  I worried about birth and I read about birth. And I read A LOT about birth.  I got books on birth stories and read about all the different options.      Besides reading, I talked to people about their birth stories.  As Taryn and I worked together every day, I asked her many times her birth story.  I was always fascinated that people could give birth to twins.  It just seemed amazing to me that there are women out there that can have two births in the same day!   They also seem like rockstars…

    Taryn’s Pregnancy – (Ep. 12)

Hearing about other people’s pregnancy is always interesting to me.  When I was pregnant, all I wanted to read about was what did other women go through.  As Taryn and I worked together, almost daily, I would ask her about her pregnancy, and still hearing her describe her pregnancy on the podcast, I learned more.   Taryn’s pregnancy with twins was much different from mine.  I am always fascinated to hear about someone who had twins as I am not the type of person to have twins.  Taryn is a strong woman and she can handle a lot. Also, if you hear in the podcast, Taryn visualized to have twins…

    A New Year – (Ep. 11)

A New Year always brings new resolutions and promises that this year will be better than last year or that things we want will happen A fresh start to a year to make things right is what many people are looking for. For me, I am looking for a year that is not about a broken leg. Although 2018 was the year I had my son and I have so many great memories that I will cherish forever, I still will always remember 2018 as the year that I broke my leg and the negative aspects that came along with it. I am lucky that family and friends were around…

Moderation During the Holidays – (Ep. 10)

As this is my son’s first Christmas, I am trying to keep myself in check and not do to much.  I wish I could say that I am doing everything to keep things in moderation, but sometimes it is a struggle.  Christmas is the only holiday that I decorate for. All the other holidays I might have a dish or dish towel that goes with the holiday, but nothing like Christmas. I have a tree decorated in every room of my house – including bathrooms!  So I think that is why I may be doing more than I thought I would for my son during Christmas.   How am I…
